For the best in the industry, success is often measured by client satisfaction and in helping people accomplish their long-term financial goals. “For more than 30 years now I have been having conversations with people about all different facets of their financial lives. These interactions have helped me form a number of convictions about money and about life. Perhaps one of the most compelling of those convictions is this: Your life is not about making money, your money is about making a life. I want to spend the rest of my working life helping people not only get a good return on investments (ROI) but a great return on life (ROL).”
Mike has taken this basic philosophy of financial planning and asset management to another level. With a continual commitment to work with those living on less than $3.00 a day in Third World countries, Mike has discovered that the ‘poorest of the poor’ have much in common with the average middle class American. “Everyone needs access to small amounts of capital to survive and thrive. We take our banking and financial systems in this country for granted but they are unique and they are transformational. I have discovered that the ‘poor’ are ‘rich’ in other ways and we have much to gain by entering into relationships with them. We need them and they need us.”
This kind of servant leadership offers an enormous long-term benefit toward building an organization’s social capital while positively impacting the quality of life for communities and the world.
Proof positive to this statement is Mike’s commitment to Zambia, Africa. Since 2008 Mike has made 10 trips to Southern Africa and has been instrumental in the successful development of an Aquaculture Project. He is busy promoting the formation of other micro-enterprise projects and saving and credit associations in poor communities all over the world. These programs extend small loans and other financial services to the poor for self-employment projects that generate income. This allows them to care for themselves and their families as well as orphans and vulnerable children.
Mike is active in public speaking and is available for presentations to service organizations, corporations, churches and civic groups. His welcoming approach and passionate message endear a wide demographic from teens to senior citizens.
